JS Media provides photography, videography, corporate and founder imagery, event coverage, podcast-style reels, social content, and related media services in and around Redding, California. This policy is focused on website and inquiry data. A separate proposal, service agreement, model release, venue agreement, or client contract may govern information and media created during a booked photography or video engagement.

- Marketing preference: whether you agree to receive a coverage follow-up and occasional information from JS Media.
Information collected automatically
When you use the website, we or the providers that operate the website may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages requested, timestamps, and basic server or security logs. The exact information available to us depends on the website, hosting, security, and communications tools in use.
How we collect information
We collect personal information from you when you submit the questionnaire, email us, communicate with us, or otherwise provide information directly. We may also receive technical information automatically from your browser, our hosting infrastructure, website software, security tools, and service providers used to operate the website.
We do not ask third-party data brokers to build profiles of website visitors for JS Media.
How we use information
We may use personal information to:
- review your inquiry and determine the photography, video, or content coverage that may fit your needs;
- contact you about availability, recommendations, scheduling, pricing, next steps, and service questions;
- prepare or administer proposals, quotes, contracts, bookings, and client communications;
- send occasional information or marketing communications when permitted by law and consistent with your stated preference;
- operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website and inquiry process;
- detect fraud, abuse, spam, security incidents, or other harmful activity;
- maintain appropriate business records and comply with legal, accounting, tax, insurance, or regulatory obligations; and
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and enforce our agreements.
How we disclose information
We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to the following categories of recipients:
- Website and form providers. The current questionnaire uses FormSubmit to transmit form submissions to JS Media. FormSubmit may process information you enter in the form as part of providing that service.
- Hosting, website, security, and technology providers. Providers that help host, maintain, secure, or deliver the website may process technical information on our behalf.
- Email and communications providers. Providers that help us receive inquiries, send confirmations, respond to clients, or manage communications may process contact information and message content.
- Professional advisors. Lawyers, accountants, insurers, consultants, or other advisors may receive information when reasonably necessary to provide professional services.
- Legal and safety recipients. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, court order, or government request, or is necessary to protect rights, safety, property, or the integrity of our services.
- Business transaction recipients. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
- At your direction or with your consent. We may disclose information when you ask us to or otherwise authorize the disclosure.
Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising
JS Media does not intend to sell personal information for money, and we do not use information submitted through the coverage questionnaire for cross-context behavioral advertising. If our practices change in a way that triggers a legal right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, we will provide the legally required notice and choice mechanism before applying the new practice to personal information where required.
Cookies, fonts, and similar technology
The website or the services that support it may use cookies, local storage, server logs, or similar technical tools needed for site functionality, security, performance, and user experience. You can control many cookies through your browser settings, although disabling technical cookies may affect site functionality.
The website currently loads the Montserrat font through Google Fonts. When your browser requests resources from a third-party font service, that provider may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser information, and the page making the request, subject to that provider's own terms and privacy practices.
Email communications
If you request a response, we may send service-related messages about your inquiry. If you consent to occasional information from JS Media, we may also send marketing or promotional email as permitted by law.
You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time by using the unsubscribe method included in the message or by contacting us at contact@wearejsmediaco.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending non-promotional messages related to an active inquiry, booking, contract, payment, delivery, legal notice, or other transactional matter.
Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to respond to inquiries, manage client relationships, maintain business and financial records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by record type and may be extended when reasonably necessary for legal holds, disputes, security matters, or other lawful purposes.
When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it in accordance with our operational practices and applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No website, email transmission, storage system, or internet-based method can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
California privacy disclosures
California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA)
California law requires operators of certain commercial websites that collect personally identifiable information from California consumers to describe their privacy practices. The categories of information we collect are described in Section 2, the purposes for which we use it are described in Section 4, and the categories of third parties to whom information may be disclosed are described in Section 5.
You may request review or correction of personal information you previously provided by contacting us at contact@wearejsmediaco.com. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information when permitted or required by law.
Do Not Track and opt-out preference signals
Some browsers offer a legacy "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is not a universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, the website does not currently respond to DNT as a standalone signal. Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally recognized browser-based opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), we will treat that signal as an opt-out request for the browser or device to the extent required by law.
Third parties that provide website functionality may receive technical information as described in this policy. JS Media does not authorize those providers to use questionnaire data for their own cross-context behavioral advertising.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), if applicable
The CCPA applies only to businesses that meet statutory coverage thresholds or otherwise fall within its scope. To the extent JS Media is subject to the CCPA for particular personal information, California residents may have rights to know/access, delete, correct, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service and pricing when exercising applicable privacy rights.
To submit a California privacy request, email contact@wearejsmediaco.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request" and describe the right you wish to exercise. We may verify your request as permitted by law. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to verification and authorization requirements.

JS Media does not use the website questionnaire to collect sensitive personal information for the purpose of inferring characteristics about consumers.
Other U.S. state privacy rights
Residents of certain U.S. states may have privacy rights under laws that apply to a business based on the business's size, revenue, processing activities, or other statutory criteria. Where a state privacy law applies to JS Media and to your personal information, we will honor requests to exercise applicable rights, which may include access, correction, deletion, portability, or opt-out rights.
You may submit a request to contact@wearejsmediaco.com. If applicable law gives you a right to appeal our decision on a privacy request, you may appeal by replying to our decision and stating that you are requesting an appeal.
Children's privacy
The website and inquiry form are directed to businesses, organizations, founders, professionals, and adults seeking media services. They are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13 through the questionnaire. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the website, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Third-party services and links
The website may link to or use services operated by third parties, including FormSubmit, Google Fonts, Instagram, hosting providers, and other technology or communications providers. Those third parties may have their own privacy practices, terms, and security procedures. This policy does not control information you provide directly to a third party after leaving the JS Media website.
Client photography, video, and event media
JS Media's services may involve capturing photographs, video, audio, interviews, event footage, or other media that includes clients, staff, guests, speakers, attendees, or members of the public. The rights, permissions, usage terms, releases, ownership, licensing, delivery, and retention obligations for booked client work are governed by the applicable proposal, service agreement, release, venue rules, or other written arrangement. This website Privacy Policy does not expand or replace those project-specific terms.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our website, services, vendors, legal obligations, or privacy practices. The "Last updated" date at the top will indicate the latest revision. When required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a material change applies.
